Regional Seminars on “Implementation of internal and external quality assurance in higher education in Kyrgyzstan”

Three Regional Seminars on the Implementation of internal and external quality assurance in higher education in Kyrgyzstan, based on the DoQuP Model, were carried out at Issyk Kul State University on 24th -26th July 2014, at Osh Technological University on 18th- 20th August 2014 and at Talas State University on 21st-23rd August 2014. The Seminars were carried out on behalf of the Ministry of Education and Science of Kyrgyz Republic by Chinara Adamkulova of the Kyrgyz National University n.a. Jussup Balasagyn and Svetlana Sirmbard of the Bishkek Academy of Finance and Economics, partners of the DoQup project.
The topics developed and discussed in the two days seminars were:
First day
Opening and welcome. Goals and tasks of the seminar. Introduction to the work of National Accreditation Council. Presentation of national requirements for independent accreditation agencies. Discussion in work groups on current challenges in the field of academic accreditation. Feedback from work groups. Governmental and independent accreditation. Criteria and procedures of accreditation, implemented by independent external bodies - accreditation agencies. Wrap-up of the 1st day and tasks for the 2nd day.
Second day
Summary of the 1st day. Work groups on independent accreditation issues. Feedback from work groups. Internal self-evaluation of an education programme in university. Work groups on self-evaluation. Feedback from work groups. Organisational and administrative measures during preparation to independent accreditation by an external body. Samples of international experience - challenges in the reform process of academic accreditation system in Italy. Summary, evaluation and conclusions of the seminar.
