2nd DoQuP Training Seminar on “Responsibilities and facilities for the definition, gathering, elaboration and presentation of information and data for quality assurance of study programmes: experiences and best practices”

Alicante (Spain), 24th - 26th April 2013

 

The aim of the 2nd Training Seminar of the DoQuP project was to present how the EU partners of the project are organised for the management of the main processes which should characterise an internal quality assurance system, with specific reference to the persons/bodies in charge of the management of the processes and of the documentation of the associated activities and results and to the facilities, if any, available for the management of the processes and the production of the required documentation.

The seminar was hosted and organised by the University of Alicante.

The seminar was articulated in 6 main sessions. A 7th session was devoted to the presentation of the structure of the DoQuP software for the on-line management of information and data for the QA of SPs in PCs.

In the morning of 24th April, after the welcome by the Alicante University authorities, the project coordinator reminded the aims of the seminar, followed by the two presentations of the 1st session on “Organisation for the Quality Assurance of Institutions and Study Programmes”, the aim of which was the presentation of the iQA systems in the EU partners of the project:

  • Organisation for the Quality Assurance of Institutions and Study Programmes, by Guillermo Bernabeu, University of Alicante;
  • Organisation for the Quality Assurance of Institutions and Study Programmes in Italian Universities, by Alfredo Squarzoni, University of Genova.

In the afternoon, the 2nd session of the seminar was devoted to the “Consultation of the Labour Market”. The aim of this session was to present how the EU partners of the project have organised the consultation of the interested parties of the labour market of reference in order to identify their educational needs in terms of professional profiles and associated required competences. The two presentations of this session were:

  • Measuring and evaluation instruments: labour insertion survey, by Carlos Mateo, University of Alicante;
  • Educational needs and professional profiles: first dialogues and beyond, by Piera Molinelli, CRUI.

The 2nd session was followed by the 3rd session on “Design and Planning of the Educational Process”, the aim of which was  to present the process of design and planning of SPs in the EU partners of the project, with a presentation by a representative of the University of Alicante and the following presentation:

  • Design and planning of the educational process: the Tuning approach, by Alfredo Squarzoni, University of Genoa.

The morning of 25th April, the 2nd day of the seminar, was devoted to the visit of the facilities of Alicante University, followed by a meeting of the Project Board.

In the afternoon Massimo Rimondi of CINECA presented the structure of the DoQuP software for the on-line management of information and data for the QA of SPs in PCs. The presentation of Rimondi was followed by the 4th session on “Monitoring of the Results of the Study Programmes”, the aim of which was to present how the monitoring of the SPs’ results (entrance students, students’ learning, students’ progression in their studies, graduates’ placement) is organised and managed in the EU partners of the project. The two presentations of this session were:

  • Monitoring of the results of the study programmes, by Mariela Alvarez Lopez, Angel Grediaga Olivo and Sergi Gallego Rico, University of Alicante;
  • CINECA solutions for higher education and research, by Massimo Rimondi, CINECA.

A presentation by a representative of the University of Alicante and the following two presentations by Eva Jankovichova, Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava:

  • Management system and structural organization for the quality assurance of study programmes;
  • The revision process;

respectively in the context of the 5th session, on “Management System and Structural Organisation”, the aim of which was to present the management system of the SPs and their organisational structure in the EU partners of the project, and of the 6th session, on “Revision Process”,  the aim of which was to present the process of revision of the educational process and of the iQA system in order to improve their effectiveness always in the EU partners of the project, filled the morning of the 3rd day of the seminar, the 26th of April.

A summing-up concluded the seminar.
